Segment inactive subscribers with AI
Turn plain-language descriptions into engagement segments in Audienceful: Claude or ChatGPT builds audiences of inactive and recently engaged subscribers and tells you how many are in each.
Build two audiences: subscribers who haven't been active in the last 90 days, and subscribers who opened at least one of my last three newsletters. How many people are in each?
The buttons work once Audienceful is connected to your assistant. No account yet? Start free, then connect Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Cursor in a minute.
Why do this in Audienceful
- Your assistant builds segments from a sentence, with a count first. Klaviyo's and Kit's MCP servers can only read the segments you already have.
- Audiences are rules, so they update themselves as people engage or go quiet.
- Included on every plan, including Free.
Free up to 1,000 contacts. The MCP server and AI agent are on every plan.
What your assistant does
- 1
Learns the audience rules

Finds your last three newsletters

Counts each group
preview_audienceInactive: last activity before 90 days ago. Engaged: opened any of the three sends.

You end up with
Two saved engagement audiences with live counts, ready to target or exclude in your next send.
Why it works
Engagement segments are the foundation of good list hygiene and smarter sends, but building them means knowing which rule does what. Describe the group and the assistant picks the rules, previews the count and saves the audience.
Good to know
- Audiences are rules, not lists. People move in and out as they open, click or go quiet.
- You can combine conditions. "Opened any of the last three" uses an or. "Joined this month and hasn't opened" uses an and.
- Use them both ways. Target the engaged audience for important sends, or exclude the inactive one to protect deliverability.
