MCP Server
Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Cursor and other AI assistants to your Audienceful workspace with the Model Context Protocol.
Connect the AI assistant you already use, like Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Cursor, to your Audienceful workspace. Once connected, you can ask it to find contacts, build audiences, write emails, set up automations, schedule sends and dig into your results, all from a chat.
There's nothing to install and no API key to copy. Add the server URL to your AI app, sign in to Audienceful, and pick a workspace.
https://api.audienceful.com/v2/mcp
You can also copy the URL from Settings → API → Connected AI apps in Audienceful.
What it can do
- Contacts: look up contacts and their activity, add or update contacts, tag them, unsubscribe or delete them, and create custom fields.
- Imports: import a list or CSV of contacts and check on its progress.
- Audiences: see your audiences, preview who matches, and create or edit them.
- Emails: write new drafts, edit existing ones, start from a template, set subject lines, and update your theme's colors and fonts.
- Automations: see your automations, create new ones, turn them on or off, and trigger custom events.
- Sending: send test emails, then schedule or cancel sends.
- Reports: answer questions about past sends, like open and click rates, top performers, most-clicked links, deliverability and revenue.
Install
Pick your AI app below. The first time it connects, a browser window opens so you can sign in to Audienceful, choose a workspace, and approve what the app can do.
Claude Code
Add the server from your terminal:
claude mcp add --transport http audienceful https://api.audienceful.com/v2/mcpThen start claude, run /mcp, select audienceful and choose Authenticate to sign in.
Claude (claude.ai and Claude Desktop)
- Open Settings → Connectors and click Add custom connector.
- Name it
Audiencefuland pastehttps://api.audienceful.com/v2/mcpas the URL. - Click Connect and sign in to Audienceful when prompted.
Connectors added on claude.ai are available in Claude Desktop and the Claude mobile apps too. On Team and Enterprise plans, an owner may need to add the connector for the organization first.
ChatGPT and Codex
The ChatGPT app doesn't have a terminal command, so you add Audienceful from its settings. For OpenAI's terminal agent, use the Codex CLI:
codex mcp add audienceful --url https://api.audienceful.com/v2/mcp
codex mcp login audiencefulThe second command opens your browser to sign in.
To connect the ChatGPT app (web or desktop):
- Open Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode.
- Back in Apps & Connectors, click Create.
- Name it
Audienceful, pastehttps://api.audienceful.com/v2/mcpas the MCP server URL, and set Authentication to OAuth. - Click Create and sign in to Audienceful when prompted.
Custom connectors require a ChatGPT plan with developer mode. On Business and Enterprise plans, an admin may need to enable them.
Gemini CLI
gemini mcp add --transport http audienceful https://api.audienceful.com/v2/mcpThen start gemini and run /mcp auth audienceful to sign in.
Cursor
Run the command for your OS to open Cursor's install prompt with Audienceful prefilled, then click Install:
open "cursor://anysphere.cursor-deeplink/mcp/install?name=audienceful&config=eyJ1cmwiOiJodHRwczovL2FwaS5hdWRpZW5jZWZ1bC5jb20vdjIvbWNwIn0="Or add it by hand to ~/.cursor/mcp.json (all projects) or .cursor/mcp.json (one project):
{
"mcpServers": {
"audienceful": {
"url": "https://api.audienceful.com/v2/mcp"
}
}
}
Open Cursor Settings → Tools & MCP. Audienceful shows Needs login; click it to sign in. If you use the Cursor CLI, run cursor-agent mcp login audienceful instead.
Other apps
Any AI app that supports remote MCP servers can connect with the server URL above. For example, VS Code:
code --add-mcp '{"name":"audienceful","type":"http","url":"https://api.audienceful.com/v2/mcp"}'
Prompts to try
Start with a question about your workspace, then hand off real work. A few ideas:
Get oriented
- "Give me an overview of my Audienceful workspace: how many subscribers, my audiences, and my sending addresses."
- "What custom fields and tags do I have, and how many contacts carry each tag?"
- "Find the contact
jane@example.comand tell me which emails they've opened recently."
Grow and clean your list
- "Import the attached CSV of webinar attendees, tag them
webinar-oct, and let me know when it's done." - "Create a
companycustom field, then add these five people with their companies." - "Build an audience of subscribers who joined in the last 30 days and haven't opened an email yet. How many people is that?"
- "Tag everyone who clicked my last newsletter as
engaged. Show me the count first." - "Find contacts who have hard bounced or haven't engaged in 6 months and mark them inactive. Show me the count first."
Write emails
- "Draft our October newsletter from these notes. Lead with the product launch, keep it under 300 words, and add a button linking to our blog."
- "Duplicate last month's newsletter and update the dates and headline for this month."
- "Show me your email templates and start a Black Friday sale draft from the best fit."
- "Update our email theme to our brand colors, #1F2937 and #F59E0B, and use Inter for headings."
- "Send a test of the October newsletter to me and
marketing@example.com."
Automate
- "Create a three-email welcome sequence for new subscribers: one right away, one after 2 days, one after 5 days. Leave it paused so I can review it."
- "Which automations are active right now, and how many people are in each?"
- "Trigger the
trial_startedevent foralex@example.com."
Send
- "Schedule the October newsletter for Tuesday at 9am Eastern to the Customers audience, excluding the VIP audience. Show me the preview first."
- "What's scheduled to go out this week? Cancel the Friday send."
Analyze
- "How did my last email perform compared to my average?"
- "Which of my recent emails had the best click rates, and what do they have in common?"
- "Which links got the most clicks across my last 10 sends?"
- "How's my deliverability looking? Any bounce or complaint trends I should worry about?"
- "How much revenue have my recent emails driven?"
Good to know
- You choose what it can do. When you connect, you pick one workspace and whether the app can only view, can also create and edit, or can send email too. Untick editing or sending on the sign-in screen if you want a read-only assistant.
- Nothing sends without your OK. Before any email goes out, your assistant shows you the recipient count and timing, and only sends after you approve.
- New automations start paused, so nothing goes out until you review and turn them on.
- Unsubscribed contacts stay unsubscribed. Adding or importing someone never re-subscribes them.
- Disconnect any time from Settings → API → Connected AI apps.
