Build an abandoned cart flow with AI
One prompt gets Claude or ChatGPT to build a three-email abandoned checkout flow for your Shopify store in Audienceful, with the left-behind products in each email. It arrives paused for you to review.
Set up an abandoned checkout flow for my Shopify store: an email when a checkout is abandoned showing the products they left behind, a reminder a day later, and a final email two days after that with the code COMEBACK10. Leave it paused so I can review it.
The buttons work once Audienceful is connected to your assistant. No account yet? Start free, then connect Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Cursor in a minute. This recipe also needs Shopify connected.
Why do this in Audienceful
- Your assistant builds the whole flow. Klaviyo's MCP server can read flows but not build them, and none of Shopify's MCP servers handle email.
- It arrives paused, and only goes live when you confirm. The server enforces that, not the assistant.
- Shopify carts, orders and revenue are built in, on every plan including Free.
Free up to 1,000 contacts. The MCP server and AI agent are on every plan.
What your assistant does
- 1
Checks which store events are available
get_automation_referenceConfirms Shopify is connected and finds the "Abandoned checkout" trigger.
- 2
Looks up the product block
get_email_block_referenceFinds the dynamic product list, so each email shows the shopper's own cart.
- 3
Builds the automation
create_automationTrigger: abandoned checkout. Then an email, a 1-day wait, a reminder, a 2-day wait, and the final email with your code.
- 4
Sends you a test of each email
send_test_emailSo you can check the copy and layout in your own inbox.
- 5
Switches it on when you say so
set_automation_activeOnly after you confirm. It checks your sender, steps and plan limits first.
You end up with
A three-email abandoned checkout automation, triggered by Shopify, with the cart items in each email. Paused until you switch it on.
Why it works
Abandoned checkout emails are one of the highest-earning automations a store can run, and one of the most tedious to build: a trigger, three emails, two waits, a product block that has to pull the right items. Your assistant does all of it from one sentence, using Shopify's own abandoned checkout event.
Good to know
- Timing is handled for you. Shopify's abandoned checkout event fires a few hours after the shopper leaves, so the first email goes out then. There's no need to add a wait before it.
- Nothing sends until you turn it on. New automations are always created paused. Review each email in the editor, tweak the copy, then ask your assistant to switch it on.
- Each email shows the real cart. The dynamic product block fills in the items each shopper left behind.

Set up post-purchase emails with AI
“Build a post-purchase flow for Shopify orders: a thank-you email as soon as an order is fulfilled with tips for getting the most out of what they bought, then a review request seven days later. Tag them 'review-asked' after the second email. Leave it paused.”
Campaigns
Run a win-back campaign with AI
“Find customers who've bought from us before but haven't ordered in the last 90 days. Tell me how many there are, write a win-back email with 15% off using the code WELCOMEBACK, send me a test, then schedule it for Thursday at 10am to that group.”

Plan a Black Friday email campaign with AI
“Plan our Black Friday campaign: an early-access email on Wednesday at 9am to customers who've spent over $200 this year, the main sale email to everyone on Friday at 8am, and a last-chance email on Monday at 10am that excludes anyone who has bought since Friday. Start from the holiday sale template and show me each send before scheduling it.”
Email? Easy.
