How to Import Your Historical Stripe Data

Connecting Stripe starts syncing new activity right away, but it doesn't automatically pull in your existing customers and past payments. A one-time historical import backfills that history — so your contacts and revenue reporting start with full context.

Run an import

On the Stripe integration page, start a historical import and choose what to bring in:

  • Customers — your existing Stripe customers.
  • Payments — your past successful charges (recorded as revenue).
  • All — customers first, then payments.

The import runs in the background. You can track its progress on the integration page and cancel it if needed. It's safe to run alongside live syncing — overlapping records are de-duplicated rather than double-counted.

What gets imported

  • Customers become Audienceful contacts (matched by email), with name and location pulled from Stripe.
  • Payments are recorded as revenue against each contact, netting out refunds. This is what powers the total spend segment condition — e.g. "customers who've spent over $500."

Imported historical payments count toward your overall revenue totals but aren't attributed to email, since they happened before your Audienceful sends. That keeps your email-attributed revenue numbers honest.

After the import

When the import completes, Audienceful automatically refreshes your revenue totals and recomputes spend-based audiences, so segments like "high-value customers" are populated and ready to use in your Stripe automations.
