How to Use the Product List Block for Shopify Emails

The Product List block puts real Shopify products into your emails (with images, titles, prices and shop buttons) without designing each one by hand. It's how you build product recommendations, launch announcements, abandoned-cart reminders and best-seller roundups.

What you'll need

Add a Product List block

In the email editor, type / to open the block menu and choose Product List (under Ecommerce). The block drops in ready to configure from the styling panel on the right.

Choose where the products come from

The Product List block has three data sources. Pick the one that fits your email:

  • Static: hand-pick specific products. Click Browse products to search your live Shopify catalog and select the exact items you want. Best for launches, curated picks, and promoting particular products.
  • Dynamic: pull products from the event that triggered the email. This is how abandoned cart and order-confirmation emails show the shopper's own items. The block reads them from the trigger's data (the cart or order line items) at send time.
  • Feed: show an automatic product feed like best sellers, most viewed or newest. The products refresh on every send, so the block always stays current.

Style and lay it out

From the block's settings you can control:

  • Layout: a vertical list or a multi-column grid, with the image beside or above each product.
  • How many products to show (and where in the list to start).
  • Which details appear: toggle the title, description, price, image and button independently.
  • Look and feel: item background color, spacing, image size and corner radius, button text (default "Shop Now"), fonts and colors.

Each product automatically links back to its page on your store, so recipients can go straight from the email to checkout.

Which source should I use?

  • Promoting specific products → Static.
  • A cart or order reminder that shows the shopper's own items → Dynamic.
  • An always-fresh best-sellers or new-arrivals block → Feed.
