Privy and Seguno Alternatives for Shopify Stores (2026)

Kevin Scotton October 27, 2026

The best Privy alternatives and Seguno alternatives for Shopify stores are Audienceful, Klaviyo, Omnisend, Shopify Messaging and Mailchimp. Privy and Seguno are good at getting a small store started, Privy with popups and Seguno inside the Shopify admin. When you want more from email itself (store flows, segments on what people buy, and revenue per email), Audienceful gives you signup forms and popups plus all three, from free up to 1,000 contacts.

Our bias, up front: we make Audienceful, which is first on this list. Claims about other tools come from their own documentation and our maintained comparison pages, linked at the end. If something has changed, tell us.

What Privy and Seguno do well

Privy started as a popup builder and grew into email. Its display builder is strong: targeting rules, exit intent, spin-to-win wheels and banners, with a tight Shopify integration. Its email side comes with pre-built templates for common store flows such as cart abandonment and welcome series. Privy's help center lists the email Starter plan at $30/month for up to 1,500 mailable contacts, rising by $15 for every additional 1,000 up to 25,000. Popup-only plans are priced by pageviews instead, and there's a 15-day free trial rather than a free plan.

Seguno is a Shopify-native email app that works inside the Shopify admin. It pulls your products, discounts and brand assets straight from the store, and its pre-built automations cover welcome, abandoned cart and thank-you emails. It's free up to 250 subscribers, then $35/month for 2,500 and $20 more per additional 2,500, billed through Shopify. Seguno also makes a separate Popups & Forms app with a free tier.

Both are a sensible first email tool for a small store. Their prices are worth a second look as you grow.

Why stores look for an alternative

  • The bill grows with the list. Privy reaches $165/month at 10,000 contacts and $540 at 50,000. Seguno is $95 and $415.
  • Flows beyond the basics. Both lean on pre-built templates. Stores that want browse abandonment, replenishment reminders, VIP tiers or win-backs on their own timing often want more control.
  • Segments on purchase behavior. Seguno's segmentation centers on basic Shopify customer data. Targeting "spent over $250 and viewed jackets this fortnight" needs product views and spend in the same place.
  • Knowing what email earned. Revenue per campaign and per flow is what tells you which emails to keep.
  • A better editor for a team. Neither offers real-time collaboration, so a designer and a copywriter can't work on the same email at once.

Prices compared

Monthly list prices as of October 2026. Shopify Messaging assumes 4 emails per contact per month. Check each vendor before you decide, or compare your exact list size in the Klaviyo pricing calculator.

Platform 1,000 contacts 10,000 contacts 50,000 contacts
Audienceful Free $79 billed yearly ($99 monthly) $272 billed yearly ($320 monthly)
Privy $30 $165 $540
Seguno $35 $95 $415
Klaviyo $30 $150 $720
Omnisend $20 $132 $413
Shopify Messaging $0 ~$30 ~$190
Mailchimp $45 $230 $450

Price alone doesn't tell the whole story, because what it buys differs a lot: Audienceful's paid plans include unlimited sends, eleven store flows, purchase-based audiences, revenue attribution and the AI agent.

1

Audienceful

Audienceful is an email marketing platform with a Shopify app. Install it from the Shopify App Store and your account is created from your store, with your plan billed on your Shopify invoice.

Forms and popups: switch on the Audienceful app embed in your theme editor, with no code, and your signup forms and popups show on your store. Popups can open on page load, after a delay, on scroll, after a number of pages or on exit intent. Every form tracks impressions and conversion rate, can tag new subscribers to start a welcome flow, supports double opt-in and has bot protection built in. The same app embed recognizes shoppers who came from your emails, which is what lets product views and add-to-carts start flows.

Flows: eleven ready-made store flows, paused until you switch them on: new customer welcome, browse abandonment, added to cart, never checked out, abandoned checkout recovery, post-purchase thank-you, review request, replenishment reminder, VIP recognition, lapsed customer win-back, holiday countdown and birthday gift.

Segments and attribution: audiences from products purchased, total spend, carts and product views, with time windows. Orders are credited to the campaign or flow that drove them (last click within 5 days, clicks ahead of opens, bots excluded, refunds netted), so you see revenue per email and what share of store revenue email brings in. See revenue attribution.

Also included: a real-time collaborative editor with themes, A/B testing, a Product List block that fills itself with best-sellers or newest products, and an AI agent on every plan that builds audiences, flows and emails from a brief, with your approval.

Price: free up to 1,000 contacts with one automation running. Paid plans start at $32/month billed yearly ($37.50 monthly) for 3,000 contacts. See Audienceful vs Privy and Audienceful vs Seguno.

2

Klaviyo

Klaviyo is the best-known email platform for Shopify stores, with a deep flow builder, behavioral segmentation and a large template library. Its popup, flyout and full-page signup forms publish straight from its form builder, and the Shopify integration installs its onsite script for you.

Price: free up to 250 active profiles, then $30/month at 1,000, $150 at 10,000 and $720 at 50,000. Klaviyo bills on active profiles, including ones you don't email. See Klaviyo pricing and Klaviyo alternatives.

Worth knowing: a steep learning curve, and the highest price here at 50,000 contacts. See Audienceful vs Klaviyo.

3

Omnisend

Omnisend is an ecommerce marketing platform with pre-built workflows for welcome, cart abandonment and post-purchase, and popups and signup forms on every plan, including the free one.

Price: free for 250 contacts and 500 emails a month. Standard starts at $16/month for 500 contacts and includes 12 times your contact count in sends: $132/month at 10,000 contacts and $413 at 50,000.

Worth knowing: the bill follows your contact count. See Omnisend alternatives and Audienceful vs Omnisend.

4

Shopify Messaging and Shopify Forms

Shopify's own email tool (formerly Shopify Email) pulls in your products and branding, and the free Shopify Forms app adds signup forms through an app embed. The first 10,000 emails a month are free, then $1 per 1,000, with abandoned checkout emails not counted.

Price: close to free for a small store, on top of a paid Shopify plan.

Worth knowing: segmentation uses Shopify's customer groups and automation inside Shopify Messaging is basic; Shopify Flow is a separate product. See Shopify Email vs Klaviyo, Shopify Email alternatives and Audienceful vs Shopify Email.

5

Mailchimp

Mailchimp's official Shopify app syncs customers, orders and products, and its popup forms show on your store through the Mailchimp app embed. It has a huge template library and a Customer Journey Builder with branching. Our guide to the Mailchimp Shopify integration covers the details.

Price: $45/month at 1,000 contacts, $230 at 10,000 and $450 at 50,000. Mailchimp counts unsubscribed contacts toward your bill, and automation flows need a paid plan.

Worth knowing: the most expensive option here at 10,000 contacts. See Audienceful vs Mailchimp.

How to move from Privy or Seguno to Audienceful

  1. Install Audienceful from the Shopify App Store. See how to connect Shopify.
  2. Run the historical import so past customers and orders are ready for segments.
  3. Export your Privy or Seguno contacts to CSV and import them with field mapping. Addresses are checked on the way in. The migration guide covers the rest.
  4. Rebuild your signup popup in Audienceful, switch on the app embed, and turn off the old app's popups so shoppers see one.
  5. Switch on your flows, starting with welcome and abandoned checkout. Pause the old app's versions the same day so nobody gets two emails.
  6. Set up your sending domain and warm up your list before the first big campaign.

Audienceful is free up to 1,000 contacts, then paid plans start at $32/month billed yearly ($37.50 monthly) for 3,000 contacts. Install it on your Shopify store and put your first popup and welcome flow live today.
